Dr. Masura Emoto, who wrote The Hidden Messages in Water, suggests that the molecular structure of water changes depending on the energy or intention sent to it. His book features photos of incredibly beautiful, hexagonal crystals that are formed when positive energy like "love" and "gratitude" are sent to it (Music is played to the water, or words are written on paper and taped to the glass containers). Water that receives the energy of "hate" or "stupid" lacks any lovely form and looks polluted.

Dr. Masaru Emoto was born in Japan and is a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University and the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. His photographs were first featured in his self-published books Messages from Water 1 and 2. The Hidden Messages in Water was first published in Japan, with over 400,000 copies sold internationally.
